Yuvsatta 1990-1996

  • Yuvsatta a youth newspaper got started and published first monthly, then fortnightly and weekly too. Finally when in 1996 it became daily evening newspaper, it ran into severe financial troubles and as a result abruptly got closed.

Yuvsatta 1996-1999

  • Project –Sahyog: Launch of door to door waste collection programme & waste management programme in Chandigarh.
  • Inauguration of 1st free tele-counselling service – DOST (1st of its kind any where in north India) on matters related to AIDS, Drugs, Smoking, Alcoholism & Sex from Lajpat Rai Bhawan, Chandigarh
  • Campaign for creation of ‘All Women Police Stations’ in State of Punjab.

Yuvsatta 2000-2001

  • Year 2000: Three day International Conference on the theme of ‘Millennium Without Violence’. Foreign students of 14 countries participated including Sri R. Venkataraman-the ex-President of India.
  • International Conference on ‘Need for Afro- Asian Dialogue’ with participation of 14 Asian & African countries foreign students of Panjab University, Chandigarh.
  • Project –Sahyog: Launch of door to door waste collection programme & waste management programme in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

Yuvsatta 2001-2005

  • Campaign for Cycle-city Chandigarh, with a focus on motivating more & more people cycling or walking for short distances in the city. As a result of which Chandigarh became first city in India with well laid cycle tracks alongside all major roads.
  • Project Rakhsak-HIV/AIDS Awareness programmes.
  • Activities promoting education amongst the marginalized.
  • Launch of Peace Clubs in Schools.
  • Project Shakti-Promoting reproductive child health and awareness generation camps for marginalized women in slums & rural areas.
  • Eco-club activities & environmental awareness programme involving school children.

Yuvsatta 2006-2010

  • Strengthening and spread of Peace Clubs activities in Schools of tricity i.e. Chandigarh, Panchkula and SAS Nagar (Mohali).
  • Project Rakhsak-HIV/AIDS Awareness programmes with UTSACS (State AIDS Control Society, Chandigarh)
  • Playway Adult literacy programme for illiterates in slum settlements of Chandigarh.
  • Creation of all Girls Cricket Team & launch of ‘Kitabghar –library for kids at Bapu Dham Colony, a slum settlement in Chandigarh.
  • Distribution of free bicycles to meritorious marginalized girls with support of Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
  • Giving voice to voiceless start of monthly ‘Jugnu’ newspaper for & by the marginalized children of slum settlements of Chandigarh.
  • Project Shakti-Promoting reproductive child health and awareness generation camps for marginalized women in slums & rural areas.
  • Eco-club activities & environmental awareness programme involving school children.
  • Start of Gandhi Peace Exam in Burail Jail & Patiala Central Jail based on autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi.

  • A nine months of nonviolence campaign launched as part of the worldwide 150th anniversary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi (January 30-October 2, 2019).
  • 1 st Children’s Peace Fest-CPF2019 successfully organized on January 30 th with participation of over 500 children’s from eight different states & U.T’s. of India.
  • International School Students Exchange Programme started with Schools in Bulgaria, China, Malaysia, Romania & Sri Lanka.
  • To bring young children’s & youth closer to concepts of green living ‘Nature Camps’ organized for over 1500 young people.
  • To further strengthen the environmental awareness & upgrade skills 7 teachers training programmes were organized.
  • Orientation Training Programme for Peace Clubs of tricity.
  • Launch of Read Chandigarh Campaign with a unique ‘Kitaban Da Langar-Books Donation’ initiative on May 25, 2019, in which 2500 books were collected and distributed among marginalized children’s from slums and rural areas of Chandigarh.
  • Project Rakshak-HIV/AIDS Targeted Intervention Programme for Female Sex Workers & special condom promotion drives.
  • Monthly activities with Eco Clubs of Chandigarh to promote programmes on water conservation, afforestation, stop usage of single use plastic, biodiversity, culture of cycling, waste management, recycling & concepts of green living.

Yuvsatta 2020-22

  • First of its kind GIRLS INDIA Project initiated to further strengthen the movement promoting rights and dignity of girls and women at all levels.
  • Active and vibrant ‘Girls Parliaments’ formed in over 55 prominent schools and colleges of Chandigarh.
  • Granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi-Smt. Tara Gandhi Bhatacharjee was invited to launch a unique ‘SDG 5 Compatible Chandigarh 2030’
  • An innovative ‘Safe Public Spaces for Girls & Women’ started with participation of local resident’s welfare associations and market welfare associations.
  • Prominent Principals & Teachers awarded with PEACE AWARDS for strengthening Peace Clubs in their educational institutions.
  • International School Students Exchange Programme started with Schools in Nigeria, Sudan, Malaysia, Nepal and China.
  • Monthly activities with Eco Clubs of Chandigarh to promote programmes on promotion of bicycles, STOP-Students Take on Plastics, water conservation, biodiversity promotion, cleanliness drives and focus of solar system promotions in residential and commercial areas of Chandigarh.
  • Annual sending of a truck load of new woolens for the marginalized children of Kashmir valley.
  • Annual 15th Global Youth Peace Fest, September 30-October 2, at International Youth Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • Project ‘Gulabi Gang’ started to give voice to and empower marginalized female sex-workers at Chandigarh.
  • Four national level youth peace camps were organized in four corners of India, starting from Chennai-Tamilnadu (November 17-19, 2022), Rajsamand-Rajasthan (November 24-26, 2022), Chandigarh (December 5-7, 2022) & Agartala-Tripura (December 17-19, 2022).
